registered veterinary technician (RVT)

*Overview*

We are looking for a compassionate Full-time Registered Veterinary Technician for our veterinary practice in Winnipeg. We are committed to the highest standards of patient care with new technologies, advanced diagnostics, and modern facilities including digital X-ray, and in- house lab testing. We are an animal hospital that provides veterinary services for dogs and cats with a supportive team environment which is focused on the well being and work/life balance of the staff.

*Responsibilities*

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care
• Prepare animals for treatment by safely restraining and calming them to ensure their comfort and safety
• Collect laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing, ensuring proper handling and documentation
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinarian supervision following established protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records, update medical charts, and document all procedures thoroughly
• Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures
• Support inventory management by stocking supplies, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring cleanliness of the treatment area

*Requirements*

• Proven laboratory experience or familiarity with laboratory procedures is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary practices
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform physical tasks required in veterinary settings

Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour
