Join us and help build the technology powering the future. About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician – Tester to join our Singapore manufacturing operations. You will test electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, identify faults, and make sure all units meet quality and safety standards before they leave the production line. This role requires a strong foundation in technical testing methods and a commitment to a safe and orderly work environment. Compensation Pay rate: SGD 2,800 – 3,600 per month (minimum Diploma required), plus shift allowances and overtime pay. Applied Materials determines the pay rate in your final offer, based on your qualifications and relevant experience. What You Will Do Use routine work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts and wire lists, and verbal or written instructions to build, repair, and/or test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies, and components
Perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repair; identify and correct errors in a timely manner
Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to validate assemblies, subassemblies, and components
Enter data on computer terminals covering work progress, labour hours, and expenses; perform computer programming or software tasks as directed
Receive parts and conduct audits to confirm availability for build, test, and repair; inspect parts for defects; contribute to process troubleshooting and improvement
Observe all safety standards; maintain a secure, clean, and healthy work environment; attend required health and safety training; promptly report accidents, injuries, hazards, or emergencies
What We Are Looking For Minimum Qualifications Technical Diploma in an engineering or related discipline
No minimum experience required. Experience in a technical testing or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Key Competencies Analytical thinking with the ability to apply scientific methods to a variety of technical activities
Good understanding of how the testing team integrates with broader manufacturing operations
Ability to recognise and solve typical problems in own work area without supervisory approval, drawing on established procedures and scientific methods
Clear and effective communication skills to exchange technical information with team members and supervisors
Physical Requirements This role is hands-on and can be physically demanding. It may involve standing for extended periods, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, working in confined spaces, and operating heavy machinery. Work takes place in a clean-room environment requiring appropriate PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields. Normal colour vision is needed to read wiring colour codes. You will also need to be comfortable working in noisy environments.
