The opportunity

Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and inspiring LAMDA teacher to join our growing Performing Arts team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to help establish and develop the school’s LAMDA provision within a founding school environment. The successful candidate will deliver engaging one-to-one and small group lessons across a range of disciplines, including Acting, Public Speaking, Musical Theatre, and Performance.

You will play an important role in preparing students for LAMDA examinations, developing their confidence and communication skills, and creating opportunities for them to perform and share their talents. Alongside teaching, you will support the coordination and administration of the LAMDA programme, working closely with the Performing Arts team to manage scheduling, examination entries, parent communication, and performance opportunities.

As part of a growing school, this is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and entrepreneurial practitioner to help shape the development of a high-quality LAMDA programme and establish a vibrant culture of performance, communication, and self-expression across the school.

This is a zero-hours contract, with lessons scheduled according to student demand, school requirements and the coordination of LAMDA examinations.

The role

Job title: LAMDA teacher

Reporting to: Whole School Assistant Head

LAMDA teaching & learning

Deliver engaging, high-quality one-to-one and small group LAMDA lessons to students across a range of ages and abilities.

Teach across relevant LAMDA disciplines, including Acting, Public Speaking, Musical Theatre, and Performance.

Adapt teaching and coaching approaches to meet the individual needs, abilities, and aspirations of students.

Develop students’ confidence, communication, creativity, performance skills, and stage presence.

Develop students’ understanding and application of voice, diction, movement, characterisation, interpretation, and performance technique.

Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to take creative risks and develop their individual voice.

Encourage students to develop independent practice, preparation, and performance skills.

Maintain high standards of teaching and ensure students are appropriately challenged and supported.

Examination preparation & assessment

Prepare students effectively for LAMDA examinations across appropriate grades and disciplines.

Develop individual programmes of study and select suitable repertoire and material for each student.

Provide clear and constructive feedback to support student development and examination preparation.

Monitor student progress and identify appropriate opportunities for progression.

Maintain a strong understanding of current examination requirements, syllabi, assessment criteria, and submission processes.

Support students in developing the confidence and performance discipline required for external examinations.

Liaise with the relevant examination body and school colleagues to support the smooth administration of examination sessions.

LAMDA programme coordination & administration

Support the coordination and development of the school’s LAMDA programme.

Manage lesson scheduling and ensure accurate timetables are maintained.

Coordinate examination entries, candidate information, documentation, and associated administration.

Maintain accurate records of student enrolment, attendance, progress, examination entries, and results.

Coordinate examination dates and liaise with relevant examination personnel.

Communicate clearly with parents regarding lessons, examination requirements, timetables, fees, preparation, and performance opportunities.

Ensure examination administration is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Identify opportunities to improve and develop the efficiency and quality of the LAMDA programme.

Maintain appropriate records and documentation in accordance with school procedures.

Performance & enrichment

Support and contribute to Performing Arts showcases, productions, assemblies, and enrichment activities.

Create opportunities for LAMDA students to perform and showcase their skills.

Work with the wider Performing Arts team to identify opportunities for students to participate in school performances and events.

Encourage students to engage with the wider performing arts programme.

Contribute to the development of a strong culture of drama, performance, communication, and public speaking across the school.

Support student participation in relevant competitions, festivals, workshops, and external performance opportunities where appropriate.

Student & parent relationships

Build positive, professional, and supportive relationships with students.

Inspire students to develop confidence, creativity, resilience, and effective communication skills.

Communicate professionally and proactively with parents regarding student progress, lessons, examinations, and performances.

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

Celebrate student achievement and encourage students to take pride in their development.

Collaboration & professional development

Work collaboratively with the Performing Arts team and wider school community.

Contribute ideas and expertise to the development of the school’s Performing Arts and co-curricular provision.

Share effective practice and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Remain up to date with developments in LAMDA, drama education, performance practice, and relevant examination requirements.

Engage in relevant professional development and maintain high standards of professional practice.

Compliance & safeguarding

Ensure all activities comply with KHDA standards, MOE guidelines, examination board requirements, and school policies.

Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.

Promote a safe, inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all students.

Follow the school’s policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, professional conduct, and student wellbeing.

Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately in accordance with school procedures.

The person

Qualifications and experience

Relevant degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Drama, Performing Arts, Speech and Drama, Theatre, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience teaching LAMDA examinations across a range of grades and disciplines.

Strong understanding of LAMDA syllabi, assessment criteria, examination requirements, and administration processes.

Experience teaching Acting, Public Speaking, Musical Theatre, or related performance disciplines.

Experience preparing students for external examinations and performances.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with children and young people in an educational or performing arts environment.

Experience working within a British curriculum or international school environment is desirable.

Experience developing or expanding a performing arts or examination programme.

Experience working with LAMDA or other recognised performance examination boards.

Existing UAE residency would be an advantage.
