Java/Scala Developer

Responsibilities: Parallelize and optimize accounting and financial calculations using Apache Spark

Develop and maintain backend REST web services

Integrate applications through predefined interface and contract agreements

Manage and improve batch-based data processing workflows

Optimize data orchestration processes with a focus on performance and stability

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and production rollout

Support DevOps automation and continuous deployment practices

Collaborate with global teams across Budapest, London, New York, Montreal and India

Requirements: Strong development experience with Java , preferably Spring

Experience with Scala or a comparable programming language

Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases , such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or DB2

Experience with Big Data technologies or repositories such as Hadoop or MongoDB

Understanding of modern SDLC methodologies and Agile practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment

Nice to Have: Experience with UNIX/Linux application debugging

Experience with DevOps automation tools and scripting, such as AutoSys, UNIX Shell, Perl or Python

Previous experience in finance, accounting or banking

Knowledge of business reporting, data science or data processing concepts
