Structural Steel Fabrication Technician (Welder/Fitter) – 1st & 2nd Shift Location: Cocoa, FL Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: From $24.00/hour (+$3.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift) Schedule: 1st Shift and 2nd Shift Available Compensation: Higher rates available based on experience. Join Our Structural Steel Fabrication Team! We are seeking experienced Structural Steel Welders and Structural Steel Fitters to join our growing fabrication team in Cocoa, FL. This is a shop-based, contract-to-hire opportunity for candidates with experience in structural steel fabrication, blueprint reading, material preparation, fitting, and welding. Whether your background is primarily in welding, fitting, or both, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications .

Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components.

Perform structural steel welding according to specifications and industry standards.

Set up and operate fabrication equipment and hand tools.

Use oxyacetylene torches, plasma cutters, drill presses, angle presses, jigs, tape measures, and squares .

Set up and operate a track torch when required.

Inspect materials and finished assemblies for quality and accuracy.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications Previous experience in structural steel welding, fitting, or fabrication .

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Experience measuring, fitting, aligning, and assembling structural steel.

Knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication tools, and shop equipment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work.

Commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with Flux Core welding .

Ability to pass a Flux Core welding test .

Experience setting up and using a track torch .

AWS or other welding certifications are a plus.
