Assistant Project Manager – Civil Construction

Civil Construction Project Engineer Location: Leesburg, VA Job Type: Direct Hire Starting Salary: $73,000/year — higher compensation available based on experience Position Overview Seeking a Civil Construction Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of civil construction projects. This role coordinates subcontractors and field activities, assists with estimating and scheduling, and helps ensure projects meet contract, quality, and safety requirements.

What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering , or a related field

2–3 years of civil engineering or construction experience , such as Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Project Manager, or Assistant Project Manager

Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, contract administration, estimating, and blueprint reading

Experience coordinating subcontracted and self-performed work

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work safely on active construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications Background in civil construction estimating, project coordination, or project management

Experience working as a civil estimator

Current CQC certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC

Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential in good standing

Experience with IDIQ, design-build, or task-order projects

Experience supporting government or federal construction contracts

OSHA 30 certification

First Aid and CPR certification

Construction Quality Management (CQM/CQC) certification

EIT, AC, or similar construction industry credential
