General Diagnostic Sonographer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and certified General Diagnostic Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The ideal candidate will specialize in abdominal and small-parts imaging, with a heavy emphasis on kidney, bladder, testes, and scrotal ultrasounds. You will be responsible for independent scanning, identifying pathology, and preparing comprehensive preliminary reports for the interpreting physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Ultrasound Examination: Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound scans of the kidneys, bladder, testes, and scrotum according to established clinical protocols.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the exam.
- Reporting & Documentation: Analyze sonographic images, differentiate between normal and pathological findings, and write detailed preliminary diagnostic reports .
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment, reporting any technical malfunctions immediately.
- Image Management: Archive and manage images within the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and uploading of electronic health records.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Associate OR Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited program.
- Certification: Active registration through the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen (AB) or relevant bodies.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in pelvic, retroperitoneal, and small-parts imaging (specifically renal and scrotal pathology).
- Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with patients and fellow colleagues. Good proficiency to write clear, concise clinical summaries for urologists.
- Work Ethics: Good teamplayer, commitment and open-mindedness.
