We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and career-oriented Sales Associate to join our dynamic retail team in Nanaimo. In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers, provides product guidance, and creates an engaging shopping experience.
This position is particularly suitable for someone who is interested in developing a long-term career in *sales, textiles, custom apparel, embroidery, printing, and business development*. We are willing to provide training and hands-on learning opportunities to the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to start with retail sales and customer service responsibilities while gradually developing knowledge of textile products, custom apparel, embroidery, printing, and related services. Individuals who demonstrate the ability and interest to grow into a *Sales Representative, Business Development, or Key Account Management* role will be given priority for future development.

Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations and explain features clearly to customers
- Upsell complementary products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays to highlight current promotions and new arrivals
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Learn and develop knowledge of *textiles, fabrics, apparel, embroidery, printing, and customization services*
- Be willing to learn and operate, with appropriate training, *embroidery machines, printing equipment, and other related production equipment*
- Assist customers with product selection and provide basic guidance regarding customization options
- Keep organized records of sales transactions, inventory levels, customer inquiries, and customer interactions
- Support store operations through effective time management, organization, and adherence to company policies
- Develop product and industry knowledge to become increasingly confident in handling customer inquiries and sales opportunities
- Identify potential sales opportunities and develop relationships with customers
- Gradually take on additional sales and business development responsibilities based on performance, capability, and career interests
Skills & Qualifications
- *Residents of Nanaimo or surrounding areas are strongly preferred*
- Candidates with *established local connections, community involvement, or local customer/business networks* will be given priority
- Energetic, positive, approachable, and customer-oriented personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn about *textiles, fabrics, apparel, embroidery, printing, and customization*
- Willingness to learn and become comfortable using *embroidery machines, printing machines, and related equipment*
- Genuine interest in developing a career in *sales and customer relationship management*
- Candidates who are willing to *start as a Sales Associate and develop toward a Sales Representative role* are strongly preferred
