Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Work site environment:

Relocation costs not covered by employer. Industrial equipment and automation manufacturing.

Tasks:

• Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process.
• Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• Prepare production and other reports.
• Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units.

Supervision:

5-10 people. Labourers in food, beverage and tobacco processing. Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

• Forklift Operator Certification.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
• First Aid Certificate.

Area of specialization:

Entomology.

Regulations knowledge:

• Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Knowledge of labour relations.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
