Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience.
Work setting:
Willing to relocate.
- Hospital/medical facility or clinic.
- Nursing home/home for the aged.
- Rehabilitation centre and special health institution.
- Chronic or long-term care facilities/centres.
Tasks:
- Administer medications.
- Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing.
- Conduct specimen collection.
- Monitor nutritional intake.
- Provide technical assistance to surgeons by laying out instruments, setting up equipment, assisting surgical teams with gowns and gloves and passing instruments to surgeons.
- Clean and sterilize the operating room and instruments.
- Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
