International Operations Manager - UK
The International Operations Manager - UK is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the company's overall business operations in the UK market, including retail operations, people management, B2B and B2C sales, marketing, events, inventory, budgeting, compliance and business development.
The role ensures the stable, efficient and compliant operation of the UK business while supporting sustainable sales growth, market development and the expansion of the company's K-beauty activities in line with its European and global strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation of stores, showrooms, pop-up locations and other offline sales channels in the UK, ensuring operational standards, service quality and customer experience.
- Manage local staffing, including recruitment, onboarding, training, work allocation, scheduling and performance follow-up.
- Develop and implement B2B and B2C sales strategies and identify new distributors, retailers, commercial partners and business opportunities in the UK market.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients, distributors and strategic partners.
- Develop and implement annual and quarterly commercial and marketing plans in coordination with the European organisation and Korean headquarters.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns, trade fairs, pop-up stores, customer events and partner events, including budget, logistics and performance evaluation.
- Conduct market research and monitor competitors, consumer trends, pricing, distribution developments and K-beauty market opportunities.
- Set sales targets and KPIs, monitor commercial performance and prepare regular management reports and recommendations.
- Analyse sales results, customer feedback and market developments and implement actions to improve business performance.
- Prepare and manage operating budgets, monitor expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
- Manage sales forecasts, ordering, stock levels, logistics and inventory flow to ensure appropriate product availability.
- Monitor legal, administrative and regulatory requirements applicable to UK operations, including product sales, cosmetics, retail, employment and consumer protection.
- Coordinate with external advisers, service providers, suppliers and relevant authorities and monitor the quality and delivery of their services.
- Identify key operational, commercial and regulatory risks and report significant matters to senior management.
- Work closely with the Korean headquarters, the European entity and other country teams to align UK operations with the company's regional and global strategy.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, profitability, market presence and long-term business growth.
- Act as the main operational point of coordination for the UK market and support management in strategic and commercial decision-making.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate with strong international business awareness and practical experience who can manage business operations, sales, marketing and K-beauty-related activities in the UK market in an integrated manner.
This position requires continuous communication and coordination between the Korean headquarters and the UK and European teams. The successful candidate should therefore combine a strong understanding of the K-beauty industry with practical capabilities in business development, marketing and operations.
Essential Requirements
- Very high level of Korean proficiency, sufficient to conduct business discussions with the Korean headquarters, prepare reports and documents, and manage day-to-day business communication effectively
- Advanced business English proficiency, sufficient to conduct meetings, negotiations and operational coordination with UK-based employees, clients and business partners
- Proven experience conducting business meetings with English-speaking stakeholders, partners and local employees, including preparing meeting minutes and business reports in English
- Degree or professional education in Economics, Business Administration, Media Technology, Digital Content, Cultural Content or a related field
- Relevant professional experience in marketing, business development, brand management, sales or a related area
- Professional experience in overseas K-beauty markets, including brand marketing, distribution, sales or business development
- Practical experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), or relevant certification, with the ability to analyse and report on website traffic, conversions and marketing performance
- Practical understanding of B2B and B2C business models and distribution structures
- Experience planning and managing online and offline marketing campaigns, promotions or events
- Ability to update website content and manage basic website operations
- Ability to conduct market research, competitor analysis, consumer trend analysis and identify new business opportunities
- Ability to analyse sales and marketing data and propose actions to improve business performance
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with headquarters, local employees, external partners, suppliers and service providers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience living, studying or working in Korea, with an understanding of Korean business culture and working practices
- Experience in business, marketing, distribution, sales or brand operations in the UK or European market
- Experience participating in K-culture or K-content-related projects, such as international film festivals
- Experience supporting the international expansion, localisation or overseas marketing of Korean brands or Korean consumer products
- Qualification or practical experience in video production or video editing
- Understanding of and practical ability to work with photography, video, social media and digital content
- Experience using CMS or other website management systems
- Proficiency in additional foreign languages beyond Korean and English
- Experience working in multicultural and international business environments
Key Competencies
The successful candidate should understand the business and cultural differences between Korea and the UK/European markets and be able to effectively adapt the Korean headquarters' business strategy and brand direction to local market conditions.
The candidate should also be able to connect sales, marketing, partner management and business operations through a strong understanding of the K-beauty industry and local consumer market, contributing to market expansion, revenue growth and the stable operation of the company's UK business.
