NIE invites suitable candidates for the position of Executive with the Public, International and Alumni Relations (PIAR) department.

The Executive supports NIE’s institutional communications by conceptualising and developing timely, engaging and platform-appropriate content, with a primary focus on video, social media posts and digital storytelling.

The role helps translates institutional content for online audiences, while providing general support for stakeholder engagement, media relations, marketing or alumni communications when required.

Responsibilities

Content Creation and Digital Communications

  • Conceptualise, script, coordinate, produce and edit short-form video and social media content for NIE’s platforms, including reels, event highlights, explainer clips, campaign posts and other digital formats.
  • Plan and adapt content for different social media platforms, taking into account audience needs, platform formats, post timing, captions, visual assets, accessibility considerations and performance insights.
  • Create, schedule and refine social media content in collaboration with the social media team, ensuring that posts are accurate, timely, engaging and aligned with NIE’s tone and positioning.
  • Support NIE departments with content and campaign needs, including coordinating copy, visuals, short-form video, digital assets or other production requirements for institutional communications.

Stakeholder and Event Support

  • Provide general coordination support for official visits, institutional events and guest-facing activities, including logistics, liaison, on-site support and follow-up where required.
  • Assist with visitor experience touchpoints and other stakeholder engagement activities as required.
  • Support institutional events such as graduation ceremonies by assisting with coordination, capturing content opportunities, and supporting related video or social media production needs.

Media Content and Communications Support

  • Support the identification of mainstream media coverage, stories or institutional announcements that can be repurposed into social media posts, short-form videos or other digital content.
  • Provide general support for media-related activities when required, including coordinating inputs, preparing basic materials, and adapting approved messages for use across NIE’s digital and social channels.
  • Monitor media coverage and digital content performance to identify useful story angles, content opportunities and audience insights for NIE’s communications channels.
  • Provide communications support for selected alumni programmes and activities, including adapting approved messages or event highlights into suitable digital content where required.

Requirements

  • A polytechnic diploma in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Film, Media Production, Journalism or a related field.
  • Prior experience in content creation, social media management, video production, digital communications, journalism, marketing communications or agency work is advantageous.
  • At least two years of work experience.
  • Strong writing, editing and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to produce clear captions, short-form scripts, social media posts, video storyboards and simple multimedia content for different audiences.
  • Good organisational and project coordination skills, with attention to details.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.
  • Interest in digital communications, social media trends, video storytelling, institutional branding and public sector or education-related content.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and basic content production tools is essential, including familiarity with short-form video editing, visual design, caption writing and content scheduling tools.
