Job Summary

Join our dental team as a Senior Dental Assistant, working closely with dentists to support clinical procedures and ensure excellent patient care and smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during general and specialised dental procedures to ensure efficient treatment delivery
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment before and after procedures to maintain readiness and safety
• Support dentists during restorative, surgical, implant, endodontic, and orthodontic treatments to facilitate clinical workflow
• Maintain strict infection control, sterilisation, and clinical safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Operate dental X-ray, intraoral scanning, and other dental equipment as needed to assist diagnosis and treatment
• Prepare dental materials, instruments, trays, and clinical items to support treatment procedures
• Keep treatment rooms and clinical areas clean, organised, and properly maintained for optimal patient care environment
• Monitor dental supplies and assist with stock management and ordering to ensure availability of materials
• Handle, store, and maintain dental instruments and equipment properly to extend usability and safety
• Assist in maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation to support patient care and compliance
• Provide professional and courteous assistance to patients before, during, and after treatment to enhance patient experience
• Support and mentor junior Dental Assistants and new team members to foster team development
• Assist the dental team with daily clinical workflow and operational matters to ensure smooth clinic functioning
• Follow clinic policies, procedures, infection control requirements, and workplace safety standards consistently
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager or dentists to support clinic operations

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant dental assisting experience

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Dental Assisting
• Experience in implant, surgical, endodontic, or orthodontic procedures
• Good knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and infection control procedures
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised, responsible, and attentive to detail
• Ability to support and guide junior team members
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new dental technology and clinic systems
