Contract Technician (1 Year contract)

About the role

We're hiring a reliable, detail-oriented technician who works well with people. You'll visit residential properties and capture high-quality 3D virtual tours with Matterport cameras. Your scans will be used for real estate listings, rentals, insurance documentation, renovation planning and property marketing. You'll work on your own in the field, represent our company in clients' homes, and deliver accurate, polished scans on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to scheduled homes and properties and complete 3D scans with Matterport equipment (Pro2, Pro3 or a similar camera).
• Plan efficient scan paths so the space is fully covered, with no gaps, misalignments or missing rooms.
• Prepare each space before scanning: open blinds, turn on lights, close mirrored doors where needed, and point out clutter or personal items to the homeowner or agent.
• Take supplemental 2D photos, mark points of interest, and capture measurements or floor-plan data when requested.
• Upload scans to Matterport Cloud and check processing quality before you leave the site, where possible.
• Do light post-processing: set the start location, trim or hide scan points, add Mattertags, set up highlight reels, and blur sensitive items such as faces, family photos and documents.
• Talk with homeowners, tenants and real estate agents in a professional, courteous way, including confirming appointments and arrival times.
• Look after company equipment (camera, tripod, iPad or phone, batteries) and report any damage or problems right away.
• Keep accurate records of jobs, mileage and hours.
• Follow privacy, safety and property-respect rules in every home.

Qualifications

Required:

• Comfortable with technology, including tablets, smartphone apps and cloud uploads.
• Strong time management and punctuality.
• Professional appearance and good communication skills.
• Able to pass a background check, since you'll be working inside private residences.
• Availability that includes some weekdays. Weekend availability is a plus.

Preferred:

• Experience with Matterport, 360° cameras, real estate photography or drone work.
• Basic photography knowledge: lighting, exposure and composition.
