Matrix Mechanical Group is a growing mechanical services company in Saint John, NB, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and gas work - residential and commercial. We're building a strong service team, and we're looking for experienced HVAC technicians who want to be part of it.
*The Role*
We're hiring a Red Seal HVAC Technician to join our service team. You'll handle diagnostics, repairs, and installations on residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. This is a hands-on role where you'll work independently, solve real problems, and have a direct impact on customer comfort and satisfaction.

*What You'll Do*
*Service & Diagnostics*
- Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems - heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, ductless mini-splits, and rooftop units
- Perform preventive maintenance, seasonal tune-ups, and system inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and airflow issues on the fly
*Installs & Retrofits*
- Install and commission new HVAC equipment - ductless systems, ducted systems, and heat pump retrofits
- Run refrigerant lines, electrical connections, and condensate drainage
- Coordinate with plumbing, gas, and electrical team members on combined projects
*Communication & Documentation*
- Communicate clearly with customers about findings, options, and recommendations
- Use a tablet (ServiceTitan) to manage job notes, parts, photos, and documentation
- Mentor apprentices and junior techs when working together on site
- Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation (shared across the team)
*What We're Looking For*
- Red Seal Certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics
- At least 3 years of experience in residential and/or light commercial HVAC
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across heating and cooling systems
- Experience with heat pumps (ductless and ducted) is a strong asset
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Excellent communication skills - with customers and the team
- Familiar with local codes and comfortable using a tablet for dispatch and documentation
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
