early childhood assistant
*About the Role*
As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will work alongside our classroom teachers to support the daily care, supervision, and development of children. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, reliable, and comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
*Responsibilities*
- Assist teachers with the daily classroom routine and activities
- Provide attentive and responsive care to children
- Supervise children and maintain a safe classroom environment
- Support children during meals, toileting/diapering, rest periods, transitions, and outdoor play
- Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and cleaning
- Encourage children's independence, social development, and participation in classroom activities
- Observe and communicate children's needs to the classroom teacher
- Maintain positive and professional communication with staff and families
- Follow all school policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements
- Support the Montessori environment and approach under the guidance of the classroom teacher
*Qualifications*
- Experience working with young children in a child care, preschool, Montessori, or similar setting is preferred
- ECA education or related child care experience is an asset
- Warm, patient, responsible, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the day
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Must meet all applicable requirements for working in a licensed child care setting in Ontario

- Oakville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
