Role Description The Smart Home Installation & Technical Training Specialist is a full-time role based in Lagos in a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site visits with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and testing smart home and IoT devices in residential and assisted living environments, ensuring seamless integration with Mainlogix platforms. The specialist will perform site assessments, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide clear, hands-on training to customers and onsite staff on system use, safety, and basic maintenance. Day-to-day activities include coordinating installation schedules, documenting configurations and procedures, preparing user guides or training materials, and maintaining accurate service records. The role collaborates closely with technical support, product, and customer success teams to resolve escalations, capture user feedback, and help optimize deployment and training processes.

Qualifications

Strong technical skills in smart home systems, IoT devices, networking basics (Wi‑Fi, routers, gateways), and hardware installation. Experience with system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and basic diagnostics for connected devices or home automation solutions. Ability to design and deliver clear technical training, create user-friendly guides or walkthroughs, and communicate complex concepts in accessible language. Customer-focused mindset with skills in stakeholder communication, relationship management, and on-site support in residential or healthcare-related settings. Good organizational and time-management abilities to plan installations, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate documentation and reports. Comfort working in a hybrid model from Lagos, including travel to client sites and occasional flexible hours based on installation and training schedules. Relevant technical certification or diploma in electronics, IT, telecommunications, or a related field; a degree in engineering or technology is an advantage. Prior experience in smart home, IoT, home automation, or healthcare technology environments is highly beneficial.
