Social Housing Property Compliance Manager

Location: North Midlands Start Salary: £42,000 Working Pattern : Hybrid working / 35 hours per week

Macildowie Recruitment is supporting a small specialist registered housing provider in the appointment of a permanent Social Housing Property Compliance Manager role.

This is ideal role for individuals looking to step up into their first management role or for more experience individuals who are looking for a role with purpose that offers a genuine work-life balance.

This is a role with true purpose supporting the local community - working closely with the senior management team, you will provide specialist regulatory advice, assurance and challenge to ensure the organisation meets its statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards and Housing Ombudsman requirements.
• Monitor health & safety compliance and risk management across the housing portfolio.
• Provide oversight and assurance of managing agents and external service providers.
• Develop and review compliance policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Provide advice, guidance and training on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Support compliance with Awaab’s Law and wider housing legislation.
• Identify and manage regulatory risks and support service improvement.
• Provide compliance reporting and assurance to senior management and the Board.
• Keep the organisation up to date with changes in housing legislation, regulation and best practice.

About You

We are looking for an experienced social housing compliance specialist, surveyor or property professional with a strong understanding of the Registered Provider environment.

You will ideally have experience of:

• RSH Consumer Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Housing Ombudsman requirements.
• Housing health & safety and risk management.
• Working with managing agents, contractors or third-party service providers.
• Developing policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
• Providing assurance and advice to senior stakeholders.

You will be a confident communicator with the ability to provide constructive challenge, influence stakeholders and translate regulatory requirements into effective operational practice.
