Contract Opportunity - Data Architect

Location: Hybrid - Bristol (2 days per week in the office) Duration: 6 Months Contract: Day Rate

We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to support a major digital and data transformation programme.

This is a strategic architecture role, ideal for someone who enjoys shaping enterprise data platforms, defining target-state architectures, and influencing long-term data strategy.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess existing Azure Databricks lakehouse environments
• Define the target data architecture and future roadmap
• Recommend platform consolidation, separation, or federated operating models
• Establish enterprise data architecture standards and governance
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to align data strategy with organisational objectives

We're looking for experience in:

• Enterprise Data Architecture
• Azure Data Platform & Azure Databricks
• Modern Data Lakehouse architectures
• Data modelling (conceptual, logical & physical)
• Data integration and pipeline design
• Data governance, metadata management & data lineage
• Enterprise-scale platform design and transformation
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable:

UK Public Sector, Local Government or Transport sector experience
