Job Summary The Estimator II independently develops complete estimates for routine pursuits and defined scopes on more complex work, with limited guidance on unusual technical or commercial issues. This role plans estimates, validates quantities and pricing, evaluates quotations, resolves routine scope and risk issues, and prepares defensible proposal deliverables. A typical project-value guide is up to approximately $25 million, but complexity, risk, delivery method, scope integration, and required independence govern assignment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Plan and execute complete plan-and-specification, design-assist, and appropriate design-build estimates.

Develop and validate quantities, labor productivity, material and equipment pricing, indirect costs, and subcontractor coverage.

Evaluate quotations for scope alignment, exclusions, commercial terms, and pricing completeness.

Resolve routine design discrepancies and risks; elevate material scope, contractual, or execution concerns.

Perform ratio checks, self-review, benchmarking, and estimate reconciliation before formal review.

Prepare proposal pricing, assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and required estimate deliverables.

Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Business Development, vendors, subcontractors, and design participants.

Support and coach less-experienced estimators on assigned work.

Contribute reliable cost, productivity, quotation, and market data to estimating records and tools.
