Job Overview

The Minerals & Metals Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that minerals and metals purchased and traded by the company meet agreed quality specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and buyer expectations. The role oversees inspections, sampling, assay and laboratory results, supplier quality, and resolution of quality discrepancies throughout the trading process. Key Responsibilities

Establish and monitor quality standards and inspection procedures for minerals and metals.

Review buyer specifications and translate them into clear quality requirements.

Coordinate commodity inspections, sampling, testing, and assay processes.

Review assay reports, laboratory results, certificates of analysis, and inspection reports.

Verify grade, purity, composition, moisture, weight, and other relevant quality parameters.

Coordinate with laboratories, inspection companies, field inspectors, suppliers, and buyers.

Identify and escalate quality discrepancies, contamination, adulteration, and other risks.

Monitor supplier compliance and maintain supplier quality records.

Work with Purchasing, Business Development, and Logistics to ensure quality requirements are met.

Investigate and support the resolution of buyer quality claims and non-conformities.

Maintain accurate quality documentation and provide regular quality control reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

5–8 years' experience in minerals & metals quality control, mining, assay/laboratory operations, commodity trading, or inspection.

Strong knowledge of mineral and metal grades, sampling, assays, testing, and inspection procedures.

Experience working with laboratories, inspection companies, suppliers, or commodity traders.

Good understanding of international commodity trading and quality requirements.

Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify quality and compliance risks.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and digital documentation tools.
