Pipe Layers / Groundworkers (Civil Engineering)

Karl Strong Construction Limited is seeking two experienced Pipe Layers / two experienced Groundworkers for a civil engineering project in Dundalk, commencing 12 October 2026.

The successful candidates will carry out pipe-laying, drainage, underground utility and associated groundworks under the direction of the Site Manager and Site Foreman.

Key responsibilities:

• Lay drainage and utility pipes safely and accurately
• Prepare pipe beds and assist with levelling and alignment
• Assist with trench, drainage and underground utility works
• Work safely alongside excavator and site-dumper operators
• Assist with backfilling and associated groundworks
• Follow instructions from the Site Manager and Site Foreman
• Maintain high standards of site safety and workmanship
• Report problems, damaged materials or unsafe conditions promptly

Requirements:

• Minimum two years’ relevant pipe-laying or groundworks experience
• Strong practical experience in drainage and underground utilities
• Valid Safe Pass
• Valid Manual Handling Certificate
• Good awareness of site safety and underground services
• Full category B driving licence and own transport
• Permission to work in Ireland

An Abrasive Wheels certificate would be advantageous where relevant cutting equipment is used.
