Fleet Superintendent (Tug & Barge)

The successful candidate is expected to regularly inspect vessels, identify maintenance requirements, follow through repairs and ensure vessels are safe, seaworthy and ready for operation Responsibilities Conduct regular onboard vessel inspections, particularly after each voyage, and identify defects or maintenance requirements.

Plan, coordinate and follow up vessel repairs, preventive maintenance and procurement until completion.

Ensure towing, anchoring, machinery, navigation, fire-fighting, lifesaving and other safety-critical equipment are maintained in good working condition.

Prepare vessels for Flag and Class inspections, and ensure findings are rectified and closed promptly.

Coordinate with Class, surveyors, shipyards, contractors and vendors for surveys, repairs and dry docking.

Prepare docking specifications, obtain repair quotations, supervise docking works and review completed works/costs.

Work closely with Masters, Chief Engineers and crew to ensure proper onboard maintenance and provide technical guidance/troubleshooting.

Support vessel operations including sailing readiness, voyage-related technical matters, bunker monitoring and incident follow-up.

Manage and follow up technical RFQs. Where an essential item is not approved, provide technical justification and escalate where necessary.

Maintain proper vessel maintenance, repair and inspection records and provide timely updates to Management.

 Requirements ·         Diploma/Degree or relevant marine qualification with experience in vessel technical management, ship repair or marine engineering. ·         Candidates with sailing experience as Chief Engineer / Marine Engineer or previous experience as Fleet/Technical Superintendent will be preferred. ·         Experience with tugboats, barges, workboats or offshore vessels would be an advantage. ·         Candidate should be familiar with vessel machinery, maintenance, dry docking, flag and Class requirements. ·         Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is hands-on, responsible and strong in follow-up — able to inspect the vessel personally, identify issues, work with the crew and contractors, and see matters through to proper closure. ·         Must be able to communicate in Indonesia Malay with crew's member.
