HNR International Shipping and Customs Clearance is looking for a Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Your tasks
- Managing the NAFEZA & ACI System: Handle pre-shipment registration procedures, obtain ACID numbers, and manage banking and customs-related processes, including Form 46.
- Coordinating with Overseas Suppliers: Follow up with suppliers and agents to ensure shipping documents are correctly uploaded via the CargoX platform.
- Reviewing Shipping Documents: Audit commercial invoices, bills of lading (B/L), packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Customs Tariff (HS Codes): Review and classify HS codes to ensure they accurately reflect the nature of the goods and comply with customs requirements.
- Inspection Procedures and Approvals: Manage requirements from relevant regulatory authorities, such as GOEIC, NFSA, and others.
- Managing Port Clearance Operations: Coordinate with representatives and customs brokers, overseeing inspection, examination, and customs release processes.
- Financial and Logistical Coordination: Calculate duties, taxes, and shipment-related expenses; coordinate with the Finance Department and inland transport providers to ensure prompt release and container pickup while avoiding demurrage or delay penalties.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 1 year of practical experience in customs clearance.
- Eligibility: Cairo residents only
- System Proficiency: Working knowledge and proficiency in using the NAFEZA system and the CargoX platform.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of customs procedures, required documentation, and tariff schedules (including HS codes).
- Operational Skills: Ability to handle multiple shipments at the same time and coordinate effectively with different stakeholders.
- Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail when auditing documents and good problem-solving abilities.
- Residency / Location: Must be based in Cairo (with a work location in Nasr City, Cairo).
