*Highway Run Trucking Ltd.* is a growing transportation company based in Edmonton, Alberta, providing Canada?USA cross-border, provincial, and local transportation services. We are looking for an experienced and motivated *Truck Dispatcher* to join our team.
Position: Truck Dispatcher
*Job Type:* Full-Time *Location:* Edmonton, AB *Schedule:* Full-time, flexible availability required *Experience:* 1?2 years of trucking/dispatch experience preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Dispatch and coordinate company trucks and drivers on local, provincial, and cross-border loads.
- Book and negotiate loads with brokers and customers.
- Plan efficient routes and manage driver schedules.
- Monitor trucks and shipments and provide regular ETA updates.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, shippers, and receivers.
- Prepare and maintain load confirmations, trip information, and other dispatch documents.
- Coordinate border-crossing requirements and customs documentation for USA loads.
- Handle delays, breakdowns, delivery issues, and other operational concerns.
- Monitor driver hours of service and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Track equipment and ensure trucks and trailers are properly assigned.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and update customers as required.
Qualifications
- Previous trucking dispatch experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of *Canada?USA cross-border transportation* is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of trucking operations, routes, and transportation procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple trucks at the same time.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Experience with dispatch/load boards and transportation management systems is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
