Quality Control Chemist

Hashem Brothers for Essential Oils & Aromatic Products is looking for a Quality Control Chemist to join our Quality Control Laboratory. The selected candidate will be responsible for testing incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality standards. The role plays a key part in supporting safe, consistent, and high-quality production of essential oils and aromatic products.

Key Responsibilities Conduct chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

Analyze incoming materials, including essential oils, solvents such as hexane, packaging materials, and other production inputs.

Prepare accurate and timely test reports and certificates of analysis (COA) according to approved procedures.

Review test results against specifications and release, reject, or escalate non-conforming materials as required.

Collect samples from warehouses, production lines, and incoming shipments in coordination with related departments.

Maintain laboratory instruments, reagents, standards, and sample records in proper condition.

Follow and apply laboratory safety procedures, good laboratory practices (GLP), and quality documentation requirements.

Support investigation of quality deviations, customer complaints, and out-of-specification results.

Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Warehousing regarding material approval and quality issues.

Maintain accurate laboratory records, calibration logs, test data, and sample traceability.

Support continuous improvement of testing methods, laboratory procedures, and quality controls.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably in essential oils, flavors, fragrances, food, chemicals, or pharmaceuticals.

Familiarity with common laboratory instruments and analytical techniques is preferred, such as GC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, density meter, pH meter, and moisture analyzer.

Good knowledge of laboratory testing, sample handling, documentation, and quality-control procedures.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to scientific integrity.

Good understanding of laboratory safety and handling of chemicals, including flammable or hazardous materials.

Good command of English for laboratory reports, specifications, and technical documentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in a production environment.
