Building Safety Manager

Permanent £50,000 + car allowance Birmingham

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently recruiting for an experienced Building Safety Manager to lead building and fire safety across a portfolio of residential properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead building and fire safety compliance across relevant residential buildings
• Manage fire risk assessments and ensure remedial actions are completed and evidenced
• Oversee fire door inspection, repair and replacement programmes
• Maintain building safety information, Building Safety Case Reports and the golden thread
• Manage specialist contractors and consultants, including performance and quality
• Monitor compliance, overdue actions and emerging risks
• Support audits, regulatory engagement and incident investigations
• Work with residents, Fire & Rescue Services and internal teams to address safety concerns

Essential Requirements:

• Strong building and fire safety experience within social housing, residential or another regulated environment
• Experience managing fire risk assessments, remedial programmes and fire door works
• Good knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
• Experience managing specialist contractors and challenging poor performance
• Strong compliance, audit and action-tracking experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Relevant fire/building safety, construction, surveying, engineering or health & safety qualification
• Recognised fire safety qualification such as Diploma in Fire Safety / Fire Safety Management or equivalent
• NEBOSH or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
