weapons engineering technician
Gunnell Engineering is looking for a detail-oriented *Engineering Technician* to join our growing team. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting with preparing technical reports, completing field inspections and gathering project documentation to be reviewed and supporting the company?s professionals on a variety of projects.
*Primary Job Responsibilities include:*
- Provide technical support to engineering and technical staff.
- Communicate with engineering team and clients to gather and analyze information.
- Gather and research technical information in various science and engineering fields.
- Carry out site inspections and surveys on rural servicing construction projects.
- Carry out site investigations and sampling to assist in rural servicing projects.
- Assemble documentation required to fulfill government requirements.
- Assist with projects from concept through to completion, including contract administration, commissioning, and closeout.
- Participate in the preparation of design drawings, including rural servicing and grading plans to Gunnell Engineering Ltd standards, proposals, engineering budgets, etc.
- Collaborate and coordinate work with peers from the environmental industry, peers from other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
*Minimum Requirements:*
- Ideally, experience within the Ontario land development / sewage / wastewater /water industry.
- Accreditation from a recognized Canadian civil engineering, environmental technology, or a related technology program.
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences, including government regulators, subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook) and AutoCAD.
- Detail-oriented, personable, assertive, disciplined, self-motivated, reliable and high-energy.
- Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and progress multiple projects as required.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and within established guidelines.
