Description
Graham is seeking an early-career developer to join our Quantitative Trading and Research Operations team, which sits within our broader Quantitative Strategies department. The successful candidate will support the Quantitative Strategies department by developing, maintaining, and refactoring code used in research and trading, with a particular focus on improving the reliability and maintainability of existing programs. This individual will work closely with researchers and follow established development and code review processes, including regular interaction with the firm’s Quality Assurance Committee. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on development, troubleshooting, and improving existing systems within an evolving production environment.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Quantitative Strategies department to develop, maintain, and improve code supporting research and trading activities
Review, refactor, and update legacy programs to meet established coding standards and improve reliability, maintainability, and computational performance
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for both existing systems and newly developed tools
Develop and maintain test cases to validate code changes and help prevent errors and system failures
Follow established development and code review processes, working regularly with the Quality Assurance Committee and incorporating feedback from senior leaders across Technology and Data
Analyze system financial and computational performance and execute trades
Support engineering initiatives related to trading system implementation, computational resource utilization, build and deployment processes, containerization, and evaluation of cloud computing
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
Strong Python skills
Strong program design fundamentals and refactoring experience
Knowledge of CI/CD process
Comfortable working in the command line on Unix
Comfortable using version control, such as Git
General familiarity with PowerShell
Familiarity with SQL and other enterprise database structures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Coursework in cybersecurity is a plus
Familiarity with cloud compute and general infrastructure design is a plus
Knowledge of R and MATLAB and familiarity with writing test cases is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
This role requires commuting into our Rowayton, CT office Mondays through Fridays.
Base Salary Range
The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. The anticipated range is based on information as of the time this post was generated and does not include any discretionary bonus or benefits (see eligibility below). The applicable annual salary or hourly rate paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including without limitation the nature and extent of prior experience, skills, and qualifications. This wage range may be modified in the future.
In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as a wide array of benefit programs, such as medical and life insurance, 401(K) plans, and access to other healthcare programs.
