Key Responsibilities of a Safety Coordinator cum Solar Panel Supervisor on Construction Sites
Safety Management & Compliance
- Develop and implement site-specific safety policies in line with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and BCA guidelines
- Ensure compliance with MOM regulations, ISO standards, and company safety protocols
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain safe work practices
Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential hazards
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined spaces, and electrical installations
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions
- Prepare detailed incident reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Maintain an incident register and ensure timely reporting to authorities
Training & Briefings
- Lead toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and induction sessions for workers
- Ensure all workers are trained in relevant safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Support upgrading efforts like SEC(K), CoreTrade, and CET certifications
Documentation & Audits
- Maintain safety documentation including:
- Risk Assessments (RA)
- Safe Work Procedures (SWP)
- Permit-to-Work (PTW)
- Training records and inspection logs
- Prepare for and assist in MOM/BCA audits and inspections
Site Coordination
- Participate in site coordination meetings to align safety with project progress
- Communicate effectively with multicultural teams, including Bangladeshi ,Myanmar and Indian workers
