ABOUT THE ROLE
Framework is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the end-to-end operating performance of a growing multi-brand, multiconcept fashion retail business. The COO will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the leadership team to translate the Company's growth strategy into strong commercial results, operational discipline, customer experience, and sustainable organizational capabilities. This is a senior leadership role for an executive who can go beyond managing day-to-day operations and build the systems, standards, people, and ways of working required to support the Company's next stage of growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Commercial & Business Performance
- Lead the execution of the Company's annual operating plan and deliver agreed sales, profitability, and cash-flow targets.
- Establish a strong weekly, monthly, and seasonal operating cadence.
- Monitor business performance across stores, categories, and channels and take decisive action on underperformance.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between Operations, Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and HR.
B. Merchandising & Inventory
- Drive disciplined merchandise planning, open-to-buy, inventory management, markdowns, ageing, and sell-through.
- Ensure inventory levels, stock availability, freshness, and working capital are aligned with business objectives.
- Challenge buying commitments and stock exposure based on commercial and financial data.
- Partner closely with the CEO and CFO on merchandise and working-capital decisions.
C. Retail Operations
- Lead store operations, standards, productivity, staffing, customer experience, and overall operational excellence.
- Improve store productivity, conversion, availability, and service standards.
- Support store renovations, expansion, and new store openings.
- Establish consistent operating standards across the Company's retail network.
D. Supply Chain & Logistics
- Oversee importation, warehousing, distribution, replenishment, and stock flow to stores.
- Optimize warehouse capacity and inventory movement.
- Manage third-party logistics and service providers, including selection, transition, and performance management.
- Strengthen end-to-end supply chain efficiency and reliability.
E. Operational Systems & Transformation
- Establish and embed clear SOPs, controls, operating standards, and management routines across planning, buying, inventory, stores, and financial operations.
- Develop and implement scalable systems and ways of working that support business growth.
- Build data-driven decision-making and performance management practices.
- Develop the Company's proprietary operating practices across buying, training, service, stores, technology, and management routines.
F. Organization & Leadership
- Build the organizational structure, accountability, and capabilities required for the Company's growth plans.
- Lead, coach, and develop functional heads and senior leaders.
- Establish clear skills and capability requirements across key positions.
- Identify leadership and capability gaps and implement appropriate development plans.
- Build a culture of accountability, execution, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Retail, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- 15+ years of progressive senior leadership experience, preferably in fashion retail, specialty retail, department stores, or other complex multi-brand retail environments.
- Substantial experience operating within multinational companies or multi-country retail groups, including exposure to cross-border business operations, international corporate governance, and global best-practice operating systems — critical to introducing standards and disciplines not currently established at this scale within the domestic retail industry.
- Proven experience leading multi-brand or multi-concept retail operations at scale.
- Strong understanding of merchandise planning, open-to-buy, inventory economics, sell-through, markdown management, and working capital. - Demonstrated track record in improving sales, profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Experience establishing operating systems, SOPs, controls, and performance management frameworks.
- Strong exposure to supply chain, warehousing, logistics, and store operations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and developing senior functional leaders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
- Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable being hands-on in execution.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in business transformation, organizational development, or scaling a growing organization is highly desirable.
- Willing to work across the Company's head office, stores, warehouses, and other operating locations as required.
