Production Operator III

Job description

Reporting to the production supervisor, the production operator III is responsible for making sure that production lines have raw materials for operation of line, responsible for change overs, operation of process equipment, and related duties. They will maintain production records and ensure standard operating procedures are being followed. They will be required to comply with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

Fill room operator

Conduct quality checks – weight and crimp width and depth

Read and follow batch ticket and spec sheet

Verify concentrate is correct against batch ticket

In process adjustment to filler machine

Line change over

Follow safety and quality standards

Fill out quality paperwork for shift

Keep work area clean and orderly. Remove trash

Label operator

Set up and run label equipment

Changeover of labels

Responsible for inventory and upkeep of labels

Daily maintenance of area and equipment

Ability to read and follow spec sheet

Follow safety and quality standards

Ensure proper labels are on correct cans

Stage upcoming production runs

Keep work area clean and orderly. Remove trash

Requirements

At least 18 years of age

High school graduate or GED

Demonstrated successful work experience

Good hand eye coordination

Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher a plus

Effective verbal and written English communication skills in order to read and follow spec sheet

Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment

Change over experience with mechanical aptitude

Three years of changeover experience and ability to make minor mechanical adjustments to machines

Read and follow batch tickets and spec sheets

Able to work overtime and nights as required

Knowledge – skills – abilities

Ability to work well under minimal supervision

Must read, write, and understand English

Attention to detail, organizational ability, and ability to interact well with others

Must be able to operate basic hand tools

Physical requirements

Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment

Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing, lifting objects up to 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling objects

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Able to work in extreme temperatures
