As a resource allocator, you will maximise the utilisation of resources and provide a dynamic resource allocation plan by optimally allocating key operational resources, including manpower, equipment, and facilities, on the day of operation. You will ensure that resources are allocated independently, without prejudice, and in line with planned business needs, dynamic real-time operational demands, and unscheduled customer requirements, while achieving the targeted levels of current service level agreements. You will also provide an independent view on the most effective utilisation of all resources.

In this role, you will handle

  • Pre-planning: Develop and maintain resource allocation plans 24 to 7 hours in advance of operations, ensuring manpower, equipment, and facilities are aligned with forecasted demand, schedules, and operational requirements.
  • Shift allocation planning: Review resource availability at the start of and throughout the shift, allocate resources according to operational workload, communicate allocation plans to operational teams, and provide recommendations on staffing requirements, overtime, and contingency measures as required.
  • Real-time allocation: Monitor operations in real time and dynamically adjust resource allocations to address changing priorities, delays, disruptions, staff shortages, and other unforeseen circumstances. Use systems such as RMS, RTC, MACS, OPERA, and other relevant platforms to maximise operational efficiency, productivity, and continuity.
  • Use specialist resource planning and operational systems, including RMS, RTC, MACS, OPERA, and other relevant IT platforms, to optimise resource utilisation, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to the operational shift in-charge on resource deployment, staffing requirements, overtime needs, and operational contingencies to support smooth shift operations.
  • Manage workforce allocation challenges, including staff shortages, sickness, and absenteeism, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and relevant updates are communicated to the administration team.
  • Communicate resource allocation plans effectively to operational teams and continuously monitor progress to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with operational priorities and service standards.
  • Develop and implement contingency resource plans to maintain operational continuity during scheduled and unscheduled system outages.
  • Work collaboratively with resource allocators and operational teams to ensure effective shift handovers and provide support across departments and operational areas as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resource allocation activities, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to management to enhance operational performance, system utilisation, and workforce productivity.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed 12 years of schooling or equivalent.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the ground handling or airline industry.
  • Have advanced computer skills and knowledge of specialist applications, systems, or programmes such as Resource Management Systems (RMS), Real-Time Control (RTC), Multi-Access Check-In System (MACS), and/or Management Information System (OPERA).

You’ll have an edge if you have
