STEEL REINFORCEMENT WORKER

Job Description & Requirements

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to identify the quantity, size, shape, and placement of reinforcing rods.
• Review blueprints or specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the work.
• Install fencing or other protective barriers as needed.
• Position structural components in designated locations.
• Secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms with fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
• Install metal structural components accurately.
• Cut rods to the required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or acetylene torches.
• Prepare metal components for installation by cutting them to specifications.
