Site Engineer

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the on-site technical execution of steel structure projects, ensuring work is delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise steel erection and installation activities, including columns, rafters, bracing, purlins, cladding, and mezzanines.

Review shop and construction drawings, identify discrepancies, and raise RFIs.

Set out and check levels, alignments, anchor bolts, and base plates.

Inspect welding, bolting, and coating works; coordinate NDT and bolt torque checks with QA/QC.

Raise and close non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Supervise lifting operations, work at height, and crane use in line with HSE requirements.

Track progress, prepare material requests, and report daily, weekly, and monthly to the Project Manager.

Measure completed quantities and support interim payment certificates and variation claims.

Prepare as-built drawings and site records.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, the workshop, and the head office.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering .

Minimum 5 years of site experience in steel structure projects (industrial buildings, warehouses, factories, heavy steel).

Strong knowledge of steel erection methods, welding, and bolted connections, and relevant codes and standards.

Ability to read structural and shop drawings.

Site surveying, quantity take-off, and progress measurement.

Good knowledge of QA/QC and HSE procedures.

Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Willingness to work on-site and travel between projects.
