SEO Editor Intern

About the role: We are looking for a strong editor who wants to learn how SEO, editorial quality, audience behavior, and business performance work together. This role is suitable for a journalism student, news editor, content editor, researcher, or aspiring writer with strong editorial judgment and a genuine interest in digital publishing. You will help produce and improve useful articles that attract organic traffic, remain relevant, and support the growth of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Edit new articles
• Edit articles for accuracy, clarity, grammar, structure, and readability.
• Improve headlines, introductions, subheadings, examples, and calls to action.
• Check whether each article clearly answers the reader’s question.
• Identify missing information, weak explanations, outdated claims, and unnecessary sections.
• Apply basic SEO guidelines with support from the SEO team.
• Give clear feedback to writers and help prepare articles for publication.

Brainstorm new topics:

• Suggest article ideas based on reader needs, search behavior, current events, and content trends.
• Develop practical angles for news, explainers, tutorials, reviews, and comparisons.
• Prioritize ideas based on usefulness, timeliness, search potential, and business relevance.
• Identify topics that can attract new readers and strengthen priority content areas.

Refresh existing articles:

• Review published articles for outdated or incomplete information.
• Research updates and add useful context, examples, instructions, or comparisons.
• Improve headlines, structure, internal links, images, and FAQs where needed.
• Help identify articles that are losing traffic or no longer fully satisfy readers.

Monitor content performance:

• Check basic performance data such as clicks, impressions, CTR, rankings, and traffic.
• Track newly published and refreshed articles.
• Flag unusual performance changes to the SEO or editorial lead.
• Record observations and learn how editorial changes affect content performance.

Support editorial operations:

• Maintain content briefs, article trackers, and update lists.
• Follow editorial and SEO quality-control checklists.
• Conduct basic competitor and source research.
• Work with writers and editors to meet publishing deadlines.
