Laboratory Technician (m/f/d)

Tasks

Proficient in all aspects of basic laboratory procedures and data collection, including ability to review laboratory results/data for general quality and consistency

Operate basic laboratory equipment (PCR machine, microtomes, tabletop centrifuge, etc.) and troubleshoot basic problems

Execute assignments according to established protocols

Review raw data for quality and consistency

Basic statistics evaluation and visual data presentation with Microsoft Excel

Convert measurements and prepare chemical solutions and buffers, as required

Manage concurrent tasks in varying stages of completion

Provide assistance, as needed, to junior team members

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebook tracking work as required

Work in a regulated GCP environment with a Laboratory Information and Management Software (LIMS)

Participate in general lab maintenance such as cleaning freezers, shared lab space and equipment, and stocking shared reagents and consumables

Participate in the establishment of new assays and devices as part of the validation process

Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the company interacts

Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the company and its operations

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Completed vocational training as BTA/CTA/MTLA (or similar) with at least 5 years relevant work experience or bachelor´s degree in life sciences with educational laboratory experience with at least 5 years relevant work experience

Meticulous attention to detail and quality, both in actual laboratory practice and in documentation

Excellent laboratory skills, including proficiency in pipetting, documentation and procedure (clinical, sterile, or molecular, depending on the needs of the laboratory)

Experience converting measurements and preparing chemical solutions and buffers

Ability to understand protocols and perform protocols with consistency as demonstrated through previous laboratory experience

Basic experience or proficiency with laboratory equipment and laboratory analysis such as DNA/RNA extractions, PCRs, NGS, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English language
