Technical Engineer

CIS is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic Technical Engineer to join our ICT team and work on-site to deliver a diverse range of technology, infrastructure, and ELV projects for our corporate, commercial, and data centre clients.

This position will report to the Head of Operations and will have the support of the rest of functions

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot CAT6/CAT6A and other structured cabling systems.
• Carry out cable containment, patching, labelling, testing and certification.
• Install and commission network equipment, patch panels, racks and related infrastructure.
• Support the deployment of network and Wi-Fi systems, including access points and associated cabling.
• Assist with the setup and commissioning of new IT rooms, server rooms and communications rooms.
• Install, configure and support CCTV systems.
• Install and commission access control systems , card readers, door controllers and related equipment.
• Support installation and troubleshooting of other ELV and low-voltage systems.
• Assist with system testing, commissioning and client handover.
• Support the installation and commissioning of AV systems, including displays, projectors, video conferencing equipment, speakers and related infrastructure.
• Carry out basic testing, troubleshooting and fault rectification.
• Work alongside project teams and specialist vendors where required.
• Carry out IT dismantling, relocation and migration works for corporate clients.
• Support IMAC (Install, Move, Add & Change) activities, including workstation, network and peripheral deployments.
• Assist with office moves, workstation setups, equipment relocation and decommissioning.
• Work within live corporate environments while maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism.
• Coordinate with client IT teams, facilities teams and other contractors during implementation.
• Support ICT infrastructure deployments across commercial buildings and data centres.
• Assist with rack installation, structured cabling, patching, equipment installation and infrastructure preparation.
• Follow project drawings, method statements, installation standards and site requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, defect rectification and project handover activities.

Project & Site Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QSs, vendors and subcontractors to complete projects on schedule.
• Read and understand basic technical drawings, layouts and installation plans.
• Maintain accurate installation records, test results, photographs and project documentation.
• Identify site issues and escalate technical or project-related concerns appropriately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
• Follow all relevant workplace safety requirements and client site procedures.
• Represent CIS professionally when working at customer sites.
