The Executive Officer is the Executive Director's key integrator, driving agency-wide execution in a high-visibility front-office role. The EO aligns priorities across the Executive Director, two Deputy Executive Directors, and the Chief Data Officer, leading coordination across all CPSC directorates while steering major operational and data-governance initiatives to ensure Commission decisions translate into efficient, modern agency action.

Major duties

The Executive Officer (EO) provides senior executive operations leadership, administrative management, enterprise coordination, policy and program analysis, and decision support for the Executive Director, both Deputy Executive Directors, and the Chief Data Officer (CDO). The EO ensures synchronized execution of Commission priorities, including data governance initiatives, enterprise data management programs, and modernization efforts led by the CDO. The Executive Officer: Serves as principal operations lead for the Office of the Executive Director (OEX), aligning executive priorities across all CPSC directorates and providing authoritative guidance on enterprise policy, resource decisions, and mission execution. Acts as senior liaison to the Acting Chairman and Commissioners-synchronizing Commission-level priorities and representing the Executive Director in high-level engagements. Coordinates closely with the Chief Data Officer to align OEX operations with agency data strategy, governance structures, analytics capabilities, and evidence-building mandates. Plans, implements, and tracks enterprise data initiatives while integrating data standards, privacy/security requirements, and modernization efforts into OEX policies and procedures. Leads agencywide strategic and analytical efforts, developing performance dashboards, conducting enterprise studies, and guiding implementation of strategic plan goals and data governance priorities. Supports procurement planning for data governance and analytics tools and ensures coordination between CDO and CIO/IT Services on data lifecycle and modernization efforts. Manages executive tracking systems, monitors progress on priorities, flags risks, prepares decision-ready products, and serves as COR for select mission-support contracts. Executes simultaneous office operations by setting priorities, resolving interdependencies, reallocating resources, and meeting high-tempo deadlines. Completes special assignments involving sensitive issues, confidential policy development, and cross-agency data governance matters. Produces executive briefings, decision materials, and tracking systems; ensures timely delivery of commitments; and serves as COR for select mission-support contracts. Qualifications

All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-15: 1) Experience providing operational and authoritative policy guidance across a multi-office federal organization; 2) Applying advanced administrative management principles to direct strategic planning, resource allocation, budget execution, and mission support services; 3) Integrating security, enterprise data strategy, data governance, and analytics modernization into agency operations in compliance with federal requirements; and 4) Leading high-priority initiatives, developing agency-wide policies, and resolving complex issues requiring innovative solutions and authoritative interpretation of federal guidelines. Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Education

This position does not have a mandatory education requirement. There is no substitution for specialized experience at this grade level.
