Data Center Operation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Data Center On-Site Operations
Work on-site at the Bangkok data center and support daily data center operations. Follow the assigned 24×7 shift schedule, including day/night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Follow data center safety, security, access control and operational procedures.
- Server & Hardware Operations
Perform server and equipment rack/unrack, relocation and removal activities. Handle basic server hardware maintenance and replacement, including hard drives, memory, power supplies and NICs. Perform basic checks on server hardware and identify common hardware issues. Support vendor RMA and equipment repair/replacement activities.
- Data Center Inspection
Perform routine inspections of server racks, equipment, power connections, cabling and data center environment. Check equipment status, indicator lights, cables and other basic conditions according to inspection procedures. Report and escalate any abnormal conditions.
- Incident Handling
Handle basic equipment and on-site operational issues according to SOPs and Runbooks. Record incident details and actions taken. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved independently to the appropriate technical team.
- Asset & Documentation
Maintain equipment and spare-parts records. Update asset information, equipment labels and rack locations. Complete daily operation records, incident records and shift handover information.
- Basic Technical Support
Support basic maintenance activities for servers, storage and network equipment. Assist with basic checks of BIOS, firmware and network hardware when required. Support GPU/AI server-related on-site operations as required.
Required Qualifications 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a data center, IDC, server operations, or IT infrastructure environment. Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with servers and data center equipment. Familiar with basic server components such as hard drives, memory, power supplies and network interface cards. Experience with equipment rack/unrack, hardware replacement, routine inspection or on-site maintenance. Able to follow SOPs, Runbooks and escalation procedures. Able to work independently on basic on-site operational tasks. Willing to work on a 24×7 rotating shift schedule, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Basic English communication and technical documentation reading ability.
Preferred Experience working in a commercial data center / IDC. Experience with AI/GPU servers. Basic knowledge of network equipment, optical modules or InfiniBand. Experience with monitoring or ticketing systems. Experience working with major server brands such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo or Supermicro.
Qualifications: 1‑2 years of hands‑on data center / IDC on‑site operation experience, with practical exposure to routine inspection, rack/unrack of equipment and hardware component replacement. Familiar with fundamental server hardware including hard drives, memory, power supplies and NICs; able to identify basic hardware faults and perform component replacement independently Capable of following SOPs, Runbooks and incident escalation procedures, and executing basic on‑site operational tasks with minimal supervision. Must accept a 24×7 rotating shift pattern, including night shifts, weekends and Thai public holidays, and be willing to work overtime per operational needs. Good English skills for reading technical documentation and simple verbal communication. Basic understanding of data center physical security, access control, asset inventory management and shift‑handover documentation. Working experience in commercial IDC / data center environments. Hands‑on experience with AI / GPU servers. Basic knowledge of network equipment, optical transceivers or InfiniBand. Exposure to monitoring tools or ticketing systems. Practical experience with major server brands: Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro.
- Direct hands‑on experience with hardware RMA processes.
