Loan Officer

Location: Abuja Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Loan Origination & Assessment – Identify, evaluate, and process loan applications from SMEs, including credit risk analysis and due diligence.
• Loan Processing & Disbursement – Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with lending policies before loan approval and disbursement.
• Portfolio & Risk Management – Monitor loan repayments, manage non-performing loans, and implement recovery strategies.
• Client Relationship & Business Development – Build and maintain strong SME client relationships, provide financial advisory, and drive loan portfolio growth.
• Regulatory Compliance & Reporting – Ensure adherence to banking regulations and prepare periodic reports on loan performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3 - 7 years of experience in credit analysis, loan processing, or SME lending in a microfinance or commercial bank.
• Strong knowledge of SME financing and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in financial statement analysis and cash flow projections.
• Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in microfinance.
• Experience using loan management systems and banking software.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Resilient and capable of handling loan recovery challenges effectively.
