About Kolomoni

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia) is a microfinance institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of The Gambia. We are a subsidiary of CapitalSage Holdings, a Nigerian-founded conglomerate, operating across fintech, agribusiness, FMCG, healthcare and export trading, with a presence in multiple African countries and global markets.

We exist for the part of the market formal banking has largely passed over: traders, agents, merchants, MSMEs and ordinary earners who run real economic activity without a bank behind them. We serve them through personal banking and wallets, business banking, corporate and ecosystem payments, agency banking and merchant acceptance.

About the role

You will own product leadership across our technology initiatives — roadmap, discovery, requirements, backlog and release — and sit between business stakeholders and engineering as the person who makes sure a requirement is actually understood before anyone builds it.

The job is upstream discipline. Most delivery failures here will not be engineering failures; they will be requirements that went into a sprint half-defined.

What you will do

Develop, maintain and communicate product roadmaps aligned to organisational objectives.

Lead product discovery, requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement.

Translate business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.

Own and prioritise the backlog on business value, customer impact, dependencies and organisational priority.

Ensure requirements are sufficiently defined and understood before engineering begins.

Work with engineering on technical feasibility, and facilitate refinement, sprint planning, demos and release planning.

Coordinate UAT and confirm acceptance criteria are met.

Ensure security, compliance, regulatory and operational considerations are built into requirements, not bolted on.

Monitor product performance, manage dependencies and risks, and report on delivery.

Requirements

What we are looking for

Strong product management and product ownership, with strong requirements analysis and documentation.

Working knowledge of APIs, system integrations and application architecture — enough to challenge an estimate, not to write the code.

Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

Excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical people equally well.

The willingness to hold a requirement back rather than let it into a sprint undefined.
