Capital School Bahrain is seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking school principal to lead our vibrant educational community spanning Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 13.

The successful candidate will serve as our chief educational and operational leader, driving high academic standards, embedding rigorous quality assurance aligned with BQA (Education & Training Quality Authority) and championing our unique whole-school focus on academic excellence, innovation, STEM, and digital learning.

Job description / role purpose

The executive principal provides strategic vision, instructional leadership, and operational management across all phases (EYFS, Primary, and Secondary/Sixth Form). The principal will be responsible for raising academic performance, sustaining an inclusive and supportive school culture, maintaining financial viability through enrollment growth, and leading the school through regulatory inspections to achieve Outstanding categorization.

Required qualifications & certifications

Education: Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Education, or a related discipline.

Teaching credential: PGCE / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Leadership certification: NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or equivalent executive leadership credential is highly desirable.

Licensing: Ability to satisfy all Kingdom of Bahrain Ministry of Education (MoE) principal licensing requirements (including fully attested degree certificates).

Experience & competencies

Leadership experience: Minimum 5–8 years in senior educational leadership (Headteacher, Principal, or Vice Principal) within a British Curriculum or BSO-accredited international school environment.

Curriculum mastery: Deep, practical working knowledge of the English National Curriculum, EYFS framework, Cambridge / Pearson EdExcel IGCSE, and A-Level qualifications.

Inspection success: Demonstrated track record of leading or managing successful school inspections (BSO, Ofsted, ADEK, or Bahrain BQA).

Data literacy: Advanced understanding of assessment systems, standardized data interpretation (CAT4, GL Assessment), and intervention tracking.

Cultural intelligence: Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills with experience working in the GCC region preferred.

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for the role

BQA inspection standard: Fully address all previous inspection recommendations and achieve an improved rating category in upcoming evaluations.

Academic trajectory: Achieve targeted progress baselines across all year groups, with strong benchmarked outcomes at IGCSE and A-Level.

Student enrolment: Meet or exceed annual new student intake targets for the academic year admissions cycle through strategic community positioning.

Staff retention & quality: Maintain high staff morale and reduced turnover through structured continuous professional development (CPD) and clear teaching standards.

Key responsibilities

Strategic leadership & BQA school improvement

Formulate, implement, and monitor a multi-year whole-school development plan aligned with BQA inspection frameworks.

Address and fulfill all recommendations from previous inspection reports (BQA), establishing robust quality assurance frameworks across all departments.

Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to deliver on strategic KPIs, financial sustainability, and campus development.

Instructional leadership & academic standards

Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stages 1–3, IGCSE, and A-Level pathways.

Establish data-driven progress-tracking systems (using CAT4, internal baselines, and external examination metrics) to monitor student attainment across all phases.

Drive continuous curriculum review and innovation, including an all-through spiralized curriculum and integrated STEM, AI, and digital literacy frameworks.

Operational & staff leadership

Recruit, retain, and empower high-caliber international and local teaching and administrative staff.

Lead the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including Heads of Primary, Secondary, and Data Management, fostering a supportive accountability culture.

Manage daily campus operations, health and safety compliance, and budget execution in coordination with operational leaders.

Student recruitment, marketing & community engagement

Lead initiatives to achieve target student recruitment and retention goals across the 2027/28 cycle.

Serve as an approachable, highly visible representative of the school, cultivating positive relationships with parents, regulators (Ministry of Education & HEC), and community partners.
