Preschool Cook
Job Description & Requirements
We are looking for a responsible and caring Preschool Cook to join our team at Cambridge Pre-school @ Holland (Buona Vista) .
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for infants and preschool children
- Follow the centre’s planned menu and appropriate food portions
- Prepare meals according to children’s dietary requirements and food allergies
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety
- Ensure proper handling, preparation and storage of food
- Keep the kitchen, cooking equipment and utensils clean and organised
- Monitor food supplies and inform the centre when ingredients need to be replenished
- Receive and check food deliveries
- Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping duties when required
- Follow the centre’s health, hygiene and food safety procedures
Requirements
- Experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
- Able to prepare simple, healthy meals suitable for young children
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices
- Food Safety Course Level 1 certification preferred
- Able to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
- Responsible, hygienic and organised
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a preschool environment
