(Junior) Security Officer

Role purpose: Support the organization's security operations by monitoring, preventing, and responding to safety and security incidents while ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor premises, entrances, and critical areas via patrols and surveillance systems.
• Control access: verify identification, issue visitor badges, and maintain entry/exit logs.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; escalate to supervisors or emergency services as required.
• Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in clear, accurate reports.
• Support investigations by preserving evidence and following reporting protocols.
• Conduct routine safety checks (e.g., doors, gates, lighting, fire exits) and report hazards.
• Assist with crowd control and customer/employee guidance when needed.
• Follow all security, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.

Required skills and qualifications

• Basic knowledge of security procedures, access control, and incident response.
• Strong observation, attention to detail, and situational awareness.
• Clear communication skills and ability to write structured reports.
• Calm, professional approach under pressure; sound judgment and integrity.
• Ability to work shifts, nights/weekends, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Preferred: Security license/certification, first aid/CPR, and experience with CCTV or alarm systems.
