We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team. Our Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents of Beech Lodge Care Facility Kilmallock Road Bruree Co Limerick V35 E868
What will you need to do:
- Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents.
- Getting to know residents’ interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
- Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible.
- Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity.
- Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort.
- Participating, organising and carrying out social activities.
- Sustaining a high level of communication between residents’ families and staff, developing good relationships.
- Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home.
- Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home.
- Care for each resident like they are your own family.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management
What are the qualifications/skills needed?
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent) in all relevant modules.
- Some experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment.
- Good command of the English language, both written and oral
Job Types: Full-time
Pay: €16.12 per hour or €32,691.36 minimum annual remuneration
Expected hours: 39 hours per week
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Level 5 in healthcare support (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (preferred)
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred)
Work Location: In person
