Job Summary

The Production Operator is responsible foroperating and monitoring spring manufacturing machines to produce qualitycompression, extension, torsion, and wire-form springs according to customerspecifications and production schedules. The role involves machine operation,quality inspection, basic machine adjustments, and maintaining a safe andefficient production environment.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Machine Operation

  • Operate spring coiling, forming, grinding, and secondary-process machines.
  • Load raw materials into machines and ensure proper machine operation.
  • Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and production plans.
  • Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to the Setter/Technician or Supervisor.
  • Achieve daily production targets while minimizing downtime.

Quality Control

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of springs during production.
  • Use measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and spring testers.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Segregate and report non-conforming products promptly.
  • Complete inspection records accurately.

Production Support

  • Assist in machine setup and tooling changeovers as directed by the Setter/Technician.
  • Perform material handling and replenish production materials when required.
  • Pack finished goods according to work instructions.
  • Support inventory counting and stock control activities.

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in quality, productivity, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Secondary Education, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Fresh candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in spring manufacturing, wire-forming, precision engineering, or manufacturing operations is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery operation.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and inspection tools.
  • Ability to read simple engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Basic understanding of quality control procedures.
