Avon Search is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader on behalf of an exceptional, independently owned residential care home located in the beautiful seaside town of Paignton, Devon .

This highly regarded home provides outstanding residential and respite care for up to 44 residents aged 65 and over , offering a welcoming and supportive environment where people can enjoy later life with dignity and independence.

The home has built an excellent reputation for delivering exceptional standards of person-centred care and is proud to hold an Outstanding CQC rating . Ideally located within easy walking distance of local seaside shops and sandy beaches, the home offers residents a wonderful environment in one of the most beautiful parts of Devon.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader , you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional care while providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the care team.

You will work closely with residents, families and colleagues to ensure the highest standards of person-centred care are consistently maintained. As a senior member of the team, you will lead by example, support colleagues and help create a safe, positive and welcoming environment where residents can live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and motivating care staff during day shifts
• Delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents
• Assisting residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and supporting with medication, where trained and authorised
• Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
• Monitoring residents' wellbeing and reporting any changes appropriately
• Promoting independence, dignity, choice and respect at all times
• Supporting residents to participate in activities and enjoy an active social life
• Acting as a positive role model and mentor for the wider care team
• Helping to maintain a safe, friendly and welcoming environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader within a residential or nursing care setting.

You will be a compassionate and reliable care professional with excellent communication skills and the confidence to support and lead a team.

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience within a residential or nursing care environment
• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar position desirable
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care desirable
• Medication administration experience desirable
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach
• A proactive and positive attitude
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and enhancing residents' quality of life
