Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled consultant in fetal medicine to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Al Dhafra Region. The successful candidate will provide specialized care for high-risk pregnancies, fetal diagnosis, prenatal screening, and management of fetal abnormalities while working within a multidisciplinary maternal-fetal medicine team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities

Provide comprehensive fetal medicine services, including prenatal screening, diagnosis, and management of high-risk pregnancies.

Perform advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations, fetal anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography (where qualified), Doppler studies, and first-trimester screening.

Diagnose and manage fetal congenital anomalies, genetic disorders, multiple pregnancies, fetal growth restriction, and other complex fetal conditions.

Perform invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS), where credentialed.

Develop individualized management plans for mothers and fetuses in collaboration with obstetricians, neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, geneticists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary team members.

Provide prenatal counseling to expectant parents regarding fetal conditions, prognosis, and available treatment options.

Participate in multidisciplinary fetal medicine meetings and case discussions.

Ensure accurate clinical documentation and compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and international clinical guidelines.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, teaching, and continuing medical education activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).

Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Fellowship or subspecialty training in fetal medicine or maternal-fetal medicine from a recognized institution.

Board certification or equivalent recognized qualification in fetal medicine / maternal-fetal medicine.

DOH license / eligibility is preferred.
