Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient care by preparing examination rooms, restraining animals safely, and providing nursing support to ensure smooth clinical operations
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures including taking blood samples, administering medications accurately, and monitoring anaesthetised patients to support effective treatment
- Educate clients on animal care, nutrition, and preventative health to promote pet wellbeing and owner compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records and manage inventory control to ensure clinic efficiency and compliance
- Ensure clinic cleanliness and organisation by sterilising equipment and preparing surgical suites to maintain a safe environment
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong client relationships to enhance client satisfaction and trust
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent education and training
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Nurse
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate clients and collaborate effectively with the veterinary team
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and public holidays
